I think as mentors at UB, our approach to scientific thought processes is our strength; we emphasize higher-order reasoning as an essential part of an approach to a problem. If A doesn’t happen, is B a likely choice? How do we as scientists view our research in a larger context? Students can learn techniques in many labs, but in Oral Biology we encourage students to think about their work in a way that develops better researchers and scientists.
