I started working at SUNY Buffalo January 26, 1993, as U.B.'s first - and to date, only - professional Recycling Coordinator.
I came over to the School of Dental Medicine on March 10, 1995, and have been happily employed here ever since.
I have a wide range of duties, primarily Administrative/Supervisory in function, including: (1) Head of the Instrument Management System Department; (2) Supervising 13 staff, primarily Classified employees; (3) Purchasing the majority of our clinical supplies; (4) Dealing with all the vast UB/Albany bureaocracy; (5) Anything else my boss comes up with!
It's a good job, very busy all the time, and it sure keeps me hopping, but I sincerely enjoy it - and especially the Dental School. I also need to keep a lot of things separate in my mind, since my tasks are so varied. I accomplish this with varying degrees of success!
Since April 24, 1993, I've been as happily married as a person can be to the former Deborah Ann Spencer. We have one lovely daughter, Catherine Renee - we call her Carrie - who was born December 30, 1994.
We also have a nice house in Eggertsville that still needs a lot of work! As our mailman said when we moved in April 3, 1996: "Nice to know what you'll be doing on your weekends the rest of your Life!" Prophetic words, indeed.
I have a lot of hobbies, but the ones I do the most are: playing guitar poorly, playing with Carrie very well, playing cards with my friends - jury's mixed on that one - and generally trying to have fun and stay healthy.
I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to have the family, house, job, staff, etc. that I have. I try not to take any of it for granted, which helps keep me humble, I think.
That's me in a nutshell!

I'm researching ways to foment world peace through the unique application of beer in mass quantities. Or at least foment it in my own little corner of the world..

Representative publications
Since I'm not a Dentist, or even a Faculty member, I've no "scholarly" publications to my credit. However, I have an awful lot or articles, letters, surveys, etc. from my old recycling days that were published in many, many trade journals you've never heard of.
