The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine, is responsible for providing pre-professional and post-graduate training in surgery as well as contributing to the research and community service missions of the School of Dental Medicine. These goals are accomplished by the input of, and interactions among, four full-time and over 40 part-time and volunteer faculty under the direction of the chairman of the department. Four faculty have Ph.D. degrees (in microbiology, physiology, pathology and biophysics) and are responsible for the departmental research efforts. In addition, six faculty members have M.D. degrees, having conjoint appointments in the Departments of Surgery, Otolaryngology and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. |
